This was the seventh annual Changemakers Awards: an award that honors local hidden gems in our community who are making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. The winner Katherine received a $3,000 Prize, and a separate $3,000 donation from our Skip-A-Pay donation program, to be used for additional land that Katherine is looking to purchase to help others. St. Cloud Financial Credit Union has been a supporter of Tanner's Team Foundation since the beginning. It's something we felt in our hearts the minute we met Tanner's Family. Pure selfless acts that change peoples lives forever.
A little information on Tanner's Team:
Tanner's Team Foundation started in 2011 to help families with children who are fighting a life-threatening illness. Tanner Fuls, who was diagnosed at age 11 with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS), a form of pre-leukemia, passed away November 27, 2010.
They help families in 45 central Minnesota counties cover housing, transportation, and household costs incurred during their child's care and treatment. Monthly living expenses continue to mount even though parents often have to put their jobs on hold. Families worry and despair about carrying on day-to-day operations that seem meaningless next to the new battle they are facing. Tanner's Team Foundation works to ease these burdens. Their foundation, incorporated in Minnesota, is recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization.

We are so honored to have been awarded The 2018 Simon Hellermann Philanthropy Award for our partnership with Sartell High School and the Kiva program. Providing loans and financial education to developing countries around the world.
This award recognizes demonstrated excellence in credit union philanthropy and contributions to the credit union movement in Minnesota. This award â established in 1999 as a tribute to Minnesota credit union philanthropist Simon Hellermann â recognizes an outstanding contribution to a humanitarian cause and also promotes credit union philanthropy, service and loyalty.
