Our personal checking accounts provide our members with significant added benefits not available from most financial institutions — fraud detection and fraud recovery using Credit Monitoring and ID Theft Recovery services.

Credit Monitoring Service

  • Our Fraud Detection service is provided in the form of 3-Bureau Credit Alerts from Merchants Information Solutions. Your credit history at all three credit reporting agencies – Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian – is monitored 24/7 for any changes in your records.
  • You automatically receive alerts by email (and by text messages if you choose) if certain changes are made to your credit.
  • This service is automatically included with all of our personal checking accounts.

Using Your Benefit Is Easy

There is no way to absolutely prevent fraud, so we believe one of the best ways to protect yourself and your assets is to monitor your credit activity.

The 3-Bureau Credit Monitoring service does not go into effect for you until you enroll. Please contact Member Services for assistance in enrolling.

I.D. Theft Recovery Service

ID Theft Recovery can include any number of events that can happen to any of us:

  • Losing a checkbook, debit card, credit card, purse, or wallet
  • Fraudulent medical bills filed using your name.
  • Utility bills charged by someone else using your name, and similar situations.
  • Giving personal information to someone by email or over the phone to an unknown party.
  • It can include the theft of your identity, which can happen no matter how careful you might be.

The credit union has partnered with an experienced, trusted company, Merchants Information Solutions, to offer this benefit to our members with personal checking accounts. With this benefit, you will have a professional Identity Theft Recovery Advocate who is assigned to you, and will work on your behalf to take all steps necessary to recover your good name — no matter how long it takes.

IMPORTANT: You can use this service for ANY SITUATION where you think your personal information may have been compromised, even if something happens to your accounts at another credit union or bank.

If I Ever Use The Service, What Does It Include?

To check on the status of a recovery case that you initiated with your Recovery Advocate, CLICK HERE, and then click on the button in the upper right corner, “Secure Member Login”.

  • No registration is necessary for the Fraud and ID Theft Recovery service – the benefit is automatic if you have a personal checking account at St. Cloud Federal Credit Union.

Go to If you have an immediate need for information after business hours, click the link and select the following option from the menu — “After Hours Self-Help Options”.
  • Assignment of your own Personal Recovery Advocate, who works on your behalf.
  • Online or overnight delivery of a Fraud Recovery Package within 2 business days.
  • Preparation, filing, and follow-up for all necessary documentation to affected agencies, financial institutions, and businesses.
  • Credit Review from all three credit bureaus.
  • Fraud Alerts issued to all credit agencies and Federal and local law enforcement.
  • Progress reports and post-recovery follow-up for 12 months following restoration.
  • A confirmation of your return to pre-identity theft status — no matter how long it takes.

Additional Information Regarding 3-Bureau Credit Monitoring Service:

Daily monitoring will notify members of any new inquiries, certain derogatory information, accounts, public records, or change of address that have been added to their credit reports as reported by any of the three major credit reporting agencies.
